Setting up the keyboard

The keyboard puts drafting, translating and tightening one tap away in any app you can type in — not just one. It is optional, and the app works fully without it.

Enabling it on iOS

Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Add New Keyboard, and choose KeepChats. Then tap it again and turn on Allow Full Access. It needs Full Access because the writing tools call our API over the network; without it the keyboard can type but cannot run a tool.

Enabling it on Android

Settings → System → Languages & input → On-screen keyboard → Manage keyboards, and turn KeepChats on. Then open any chat, tap the keyboard-switch icon, and pick KeepChats.

What it can see

Only the message you are writing, at the moment you tap a tool. It does not read the rest of the conversation, it does not run in the background, and nothing you type is stored once the suggestion comes back. "Full Access" is an iOS permission name, not a description of what we do with it.

Using it from the text menu

On both platforms you can also select text anywhere and pick KeepChats from the selection menu, which runs the same tools without switching keyboards at all.
