Consent connections

A consent connection is a two-sided agreement to stay reachable outside a platform. It exists because staying in touch with someone should not be something one person can decide on behalf of the other.

Requesting one

You ask one person to stay reachable and send them the link. Nothing is copied and nothing is stored about them at this point — a request is only a request.

Confirming

They open the link on their own device and accept. Only then does the connection exist, and it exists on both sides equally. Neither of you can create one alone.

Withdrawing

Either side can end it at any time, from their own side, without asking the other. Copying stops the moment they do, and the record shows when it ended. There is no negotiation and no delay.

Why it outlives the account

The whole point is that a platform closing your account should not also take away the people you knew there. A confirmed connection survives that, because it was never held by the platform in the first place.
